Why do you call your Air2Water generator “SunAir Fountain®”?Because the "SunAir Fountain®" gets clean, cool water only from the energy of the sun and the humidity of the air, which reminded us of a fountain.
-
How does the SunAir Fountain® panel extract water from the air? There is more water in the air (RH) during the night than during the day. Therefore, at night: 1. Air sucked into the panel by a fan; 2. The humidity of the air is held by our adsorbent*; 3. The drier air is expelled again. During the day, the sun heats the adsorbent: 1. In reaching high temperature inside the adsorber thanks to solar heat , the water on the adsorbent surface turns in to vapor that is sterile, ie free from germs and contaminants of any kind - including microplastics and PFAS. 2. The water vapor comes in contact with the cool inside glass of the panel, condenses and the droplets run down by gravity where they are caught. 3. The water collected is finally mineralized and filtered through a natural process. While normally polluted water must be cleaned - often in a multi-stage process - so that it can be used, our starting product is absolutely pure, sterile water that is used in hospitals and as ultrapure water in production processes: because it is germ-free - , simply H2O, water. We then mineralize our Agua de Sol in accordance with WHO, EU and UN guidelines, making it tasty drinking water. * The adsorbent consists of a natural, very porous material which has this ability to capture the water molecule in the air and holds it to its huge surface area - until it is heated by solar energy.

Our air is often polluted: How does the SunAir Fountain ensure that clean, good drinking water is obtained?. Actually, it's a three-fold process that ensures you get absolutely clean great-tasting drinking water. Of course, the air is pre-filtered before it is sucked into the panel. And then the air flows over the adsorbent, which attracts the water, like the grains of rice that we put in the salt shaker, so that the humidity in the air doesn't stick to the salt. The adsorbent consists of a natural, very porous material with a correspondingly large surface area on which pure water accumulates everywhere. This is to be taken literally: only water, i.e. the water molecules, H2O are retained - and heated the next day so that the sterile, germ-free water vapor condenses into the purest water. It is then mineralized - and now you are holding water in your hands that meets the highest standards - and of course meets the specifications of the WHO, the US EPA and the EU This goes without saying for us. See also question Q 5. * You are of course right: If our adsorbent only accumulates the water molecules, then it actually doesn't need a filter at all. True, but it is better not to let airborne dust into the panel at all; once inside, it needs to be cleaned more often depending on the air quality. And we spare you and us this work – as much as possible. On the topic of care and maintenance, see question Q 12) ** Absorption or adsorption - the difference is crucial: absorption integrates the added substance (in our case: the water) and it is correspondingly difficult to extract it again. Adsorption deposits the water on the surface of the adsorbent and so it can be separated again without much energy expenditure.

The SunAir Fountain Panels are very compact; Why?Yes, they are quite small compared to regular solar panels. For several good reasons. One is: They are easier to handle and can be installed by almost anyone. In addition: A SunAir Fountain® is an A2W generator on its own and is fully functional. At the same time, it is the standard module that, together with other modules, can also produce larger amounts of water. A smaller module size increases flexibility and allows our customers to use areas that others cannot. This is how we generate the amount of water that is needed on site. Another important reason is Agua de Sol's focus on sustainability and our desire to leave as small a carbon footprint as possible. Our panels fit to Euro pallet standard– that means, they could be transported more compact.
-
How does the SunAir Fountain ensure its water quality? There are two different answers here: 1. Through our water harvesting process 100 % physical (no chemical and no mechanical): using natural materials to build the SunAir fountain, natural and sustainable resources such as solar energy, air humidity, gravity - and using natural substances for our adsorbent and for mineralization. 2. The EU tested a wealth of materials and then published a list of materials that may come into contact with drinking water, i.e. are suitable for drinking water.
-
Does the water from the SunAir fountain meet World Health Organization (WHO), US and EU requirements? And are the country-specific requirements also complied with in the EU?Drinking water is the water with the highest health standards and these are meticulously maintained by Agua de Sol. SunAir Fountain produces drinking water strictly according to the WHO requirements, the EU guidelines and the specifications of all partner countries to which Agua de Sol will offer SunAir Fountains. In December 2020, the EU updated its guidelines across countries, and a group of countries have also harmonized their tests (including France and Germany). In practice, there is a positive list, which means that "for the construction or maintenance of systems for the extraction, treatment and distribution of drinking water, only materials that correspond to these assessment bases may be used." And this list is constantly updated knowledge adjusted. In the United States, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also takes responsibility for drinking water. The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) is the main federal law that ensures the quality of Americans' drinking water. Under SDWA, EPA sets standards for drinking water quality and overseas the states, localities, and water suppliers who implement those standardsThe US EPA recently set specific limits for PFAS. The water industry has reacted and started to take action.

How much water can be collected with a SunAir fountain panel? We assume around 1.0 liters of drinking water per panel per day, under particularly good conditions. Calculated in a comparable way, we produce about 1,2 liters per m2 of panel surface. Working on an R&D program with our technical partners, our objective is to reach 2 liters per m2 of panel surface.
-
On what does it depend how much drinking water can be obtained per day? From the solar irradiation, the relative humidity (RH) and the air temperature - to a lesser extent also from the air pressure - and because we currently offer you the most environmentally friendly and sustainable product on the Air2Water market: from solar energy, i.e. the number of hours of sunshine per day.
-
If we take ten “SunAir Fountain” panels. How much do they cost us; how much space do we need and how much water do we get? With ten SunAir Fountains you get between 5 and 10 liters per day of drinking water and need around 7 m2 of space – either on the house roof or in the garden. The panel will cost around 500 euros. 5 - 10 liters of drinking water are sufficient for 3- 5 people per day; two people can cover their drinking water needs, can cook and brush the teeth.
-
If I understand correctly, the amount of water I get depends on the climate, so the amount of water I get depends on where I live?Exactly. That's why we were able to win over the Technical University of Crete (TUC) for a field test. Under real, different climatic conditions, the scientists measure both the amount of water extracted per unit of time over the day, week, month, year and the respective climatic boundary conditions (pressure, temperature, humidity, solar radiation, wind, etc.) The researchers want to use this data to develop a model that will allow them and us to calculate your climate data in order to obtain all the key data that is important to you: Total amount of water, lowest, highest output per day, average values in winter, in summer etc.. This allows us to make you a tailor-made offer for your situation and location.
-
How much does a SunAir fountain panel cost? The price will be around €500 per panel. 50 percent of the costs are due when the order is placed, the rest upon delivery.
-
That seems – if you compare it with water from a plastic bottle – very cheap?Yes, that's right. For example, let’s take the very common 5-liter canister in Morocco – meanwhile we have founded a subsidiary there - and our drinking water is still cheaper than a liter from the 5-liter canister - and it tastes better too.
-
What about service and maintenance? We have a clear strategy: we want to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible. That's why we offer low-tech Air2water generators that are very low-maintenance per se. We could produce in France and send our panels all over the world – like many of our competitors. We only produce the essential parts with which we are subject to EU directives - and we want to manufacture the remaining 80 percent in the countries in which our SunAir Fountains® are used. This greatly reduces our transport volumes and will keep our CO2 emissions low; creates jobs on site and we get trained specialists who could take over the service and maintenance work. However, we do not assume that there is a great need for service and maintenance. After all, the water filter is only replaced once a year and the air filter need to be cleaned once per year or per 2 years (depends on the air environment of the installation).

Delivery Time & Guarantee. What is the typical delivery time for the SunAir Fountain system?Since we work with identical modules and the orders differ only in the number of modules, we do not have the lead times of our competitors who want to sell different devices for the need of 10 liters than for 50 or 500 liters. Agua de Sol will now start with a larger number of a pre-series. A smaller number of this pre-series are currently being tested under scientific supervision. We assume that we will be able to start manufacturing larger quantities at the beginning of the next year. So, I think you will be able to be supplied by the end of March 2025 at the latest. In a steady state we will be able to deliver within a few days. Then you will call the sales department in your region in many countries around the world and the following week you will have the panels – together with installation instructions – and again a day later you drink your first glass of cool, clean, tasty drinking water from Agua de Sol. The guarantee is 3 years and can be extended to up to 5 years

What are the company's primary products or services, and how do they differentiate from competitors? We offer free carbon drinking water – and use the forces of nature to do so: the sun, the atmosphere, gravity, nature, which created our adsorbent over millions of years and takes care of the mineralization of our “Agua de Sol”. Our panels are low tech, modular, inexpensive. (so far these have all been things that set us apart from the competition). It is important to us not only to offer excellent drinking water, but also to make a contribution to relieving the burden on the world by reducing water transport, less necessary infrastructure, etc. - against plastic waste and the destruction of our environment through large-scale projects (dams, seawater desalination, etc.). We produce our free carbon water locally where it is needed, lengthy planning is unnecessary, supply contracts spanning decades are the same, planning errors are impossible. – More and more people are moving to the cities, slums and wild settlements around the metropolises are the order of the day. We'll come along, deliver our SunAir Fountains and there will be water from tomorrow.
